How Growing Well is Run
Growing Well is a charitable social enterprise which is run by a volunteer board of directors on behalf of the membership of the organisation. The board of directors steers the strategy of the organisation and empowers the staff of Growing Well to manage the enterprise on a day to day basis.
A strong emphasis is placed on Growing Well being managed in a cooperative and collaborative way. Our volunteer team is encouraged to get involved in our decision making at a practical level by taking on responsibility for tasks and supervision on site and at a strategic level within regular team meetings.
Our board is elected by our membership at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), with one-third of the board being up for election at each AGM. Any member of Growing Well can nominate themselves for election to the board and we particularly welcome nominations from our current or former volunteers.
We encourage everyone who is actively involved in Growing Well to apply for membership and to have a say in how we operate.
