Growing

Growing Well is one of the UK's most experienced community growers. We run an organic growing business on six acres of Low Sizergh Farm and we sell our produce through our Cropshare scheme (a community supported agriculture scheme) as well as to local shops and cafes.

We have many years experience combining the demands of running a farm-scale growing business with the involvement of large teams of volunteers and students.  We have developed a range of systems, procedures and plans that allow our volunteers to take control of the day to day operation of the growing enterprise.

The enterprise aims to meet a proportion of the vegetable needs of a hundred local families, as well as providing produce to the farm shop where we are based, and to a wide range of local wholesale customers.  We have around 1250 square metres of protected cropping space and 10 acres of outdoor growing land which we are improving and developing every year.
