Training Courses

Some of our volunteers decide to enroll on our training courses to get used to working with new people and to get a better background knowledge about growing food.

Our courses are attended by a wide range of members of our community, but are taught in an informal and practical way to make them as accessible as possible for people who may be anxious or wary of a learning environment.

Our volunteers report that doing a training course in this way boosts their pride in themselves, gives them the confidence to study further at their local college or to apply for work or volunteering.  Many lasting friendships are made on our training courses.

  • I am enjoying the NVQ – I’m thrilled; I’m skipping home. My minds been ticking over about employment. I’m planning to leave once I’ve finished my NVQ.
