On Friday 13th May Growing Well celebrated its 7th Annual General Meeting. Jill Hetherington cut the ribbon on one of the 2 new polytunnels before this year's tomatoes were planted in. Volunteers old and new were invited to join the celebrations and it was lovely to catch up with volunteers who worked with us when Growing Well started in 2005.
Local MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, Tim Farron also popped in and joined us. A light lunch followed the meeting served straight from the cafe at Low Sizergh Farm. Over the last year Growing Well has had lots to celebrate, Michael Lishman came second in the UK final of the Social Vision 2010 photography exhibition. Michael's photography exhibition "The people of Growing Well - People becoming well" is currently being exhibited at Low Sizergh Barn cafe until the end of June.
Growing Well also went onto win the British Enterprise Champion in the Countryside Alliance (CA) awards announced in the House of Lords to which four members of the staff attended the awards ceremony.
