Last week 40 members of HSBC's corporate banking team in the North-West joined the team at Growing Well for a busy day of summer work. Organised through the Cumbria Community Foundation, the HSBC team were working with us as part of their support for community initiatives.
It was a hot day, and they worked in teams clearing the weeds from our cabbages and brussel sprouts (which had been protecting the young plants from birds), weeding and mulching around our new soft fruit bushes, and side shooting tomatoes in one of our new 90 foot long polytunnels.
The HSBC team really enjoyed the day and felt that they'd achieved a great deal on the site.
