Vocational Courses
We have many year's successful experience delivering vocational courses in horticulture. We deliver Diplomas in Horticulture at levels one, two and three, both on-site at the farm and in community locations.
*Please see below for information about a NEW Level 1 Course starting September 2011*
These Diploma courses normally take two terms (eight months) for completion, studying one day per week, except for the level three course which requires monthly attendance for one day over the course of a year.
Courses tend to begin at the start of school terms, and the cost for enrolment is usually dependent on the current funding streams within Further Education.
We are also very happy to arrange stand-alone courses for schools and community groups.
*NEW Level 1 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture starting September 2011*
This qualification is aimed at candidates who have an interest in Horticulture and would like to learn basic horticultural skills along with the knowledge relevant to these skills. A taster day with an informal assessment will be required prior to entry on to the course. The course is very practical and students should be willing and able to work outside in all weathers and get their hands dirty!
This course is available free to those receiving JSA and ESA benefits.
Please get in touch with Hazel Sharples, Training Coordinator, if you might be interested in attending.
