It’s January, I’m on a diet. As result I didn’t have one of these, and I regret it. Interesting fact – my diet lady says that you never pine over NOT eating something (you know, like “Oh, I wish I’d had that mars bar last week”). Mainly true, but in the case of these beauties, I still feel I’ve missed out.
These were either apple or cranberry, but I suppose you could know yourself out and combine?
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups flour (I don’t know which either)
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder (probably plain flour then??)
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup of vegan spread
2 jars of cranberry or apple sauce
Mix the oats, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl
Use you finger tips to rub in the spread (so it’s like making crumble topping I assume)
Spoon 3/4 of the mixture into a baking tray, press it down so it’s level
Add the cranberry or apple sauce, sprinkle over the remaining mixture
Bake in the oven at 180degrees for 25 minutes
Allow to cool and cut into slices
