Wholewheat Chapattis

Just like pancakes, but better*

*I qualify that statement by asking – do you eat pancakes with curry?  No? Then I rest my case.


125g wholemeal flour

125g plain flour

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp olive oil

175ml hot water


Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly

On a floured surface, knead the dough for 10 mins

Put in an oiled bowl and cover until needed.  Divide the mixture into 10 and roll each out on a floured surface until a 10mm thick circle (or in reality whichever shape you actually end up with).

Heat up a frying pan, and dry fry each about 45 seconds each side, until they puff up.

Keep warm and serve.
