Our Mission is to enable good mental health and wellbeing through vocational activity.
We are passionate and enthusiastic in creating an environment which is welcoming and accessible. We operate as flexibly as possible and ensure that everyone that is involved with Growing Well is treated equally and that their diversity is welcomed.
Our values focus us on providing a safe supportive environment, where individual needs are supported in a non judgmental, professional and well resourced manner.
Our Aims are to:
- Develop the emotional resilience of people experiencing mental distress.
- Improve people’s life skills, through training and vocational activity, increasing hopefulness for the future.
- Support people to be healthier and more active, reducing social isolation and increasing life expectancy.
We address the un (and under) employment of participants with mental health conditions, giving them the skills, confidence and resilience to achieve their goals and to move nearer employment. Providing a physical, outdoor activity, we improve physical health, thereby reducing avoidable mortality (51,000 deaths occur each year due to mental health problems). Men with mental health issues are at particular risk and we know that our activities attract male participants in ways other services do not.
