Growing Well has recently been included as a support organisation on the WorkWell employability initiative, funded by the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board.

The North Cumbria NHS Work Well Service (part of the NENC ICB Health and Growth Programme) is delivered by Cumbria Health in partnership with local support organisations.

The service is designed to help people who are finding it difficult to remain in work, or who are off sick due to a physical or mental health condition. Growing Well will be supporting people recently signed off on sick, or are at risk of going off on sick, to return to work within 12 weeks.

Growing Well are also working with North and West Cumbrian NHS clinical teams to tackle their long waiting lists for mental health support and to refer people to us for help as soon as they acknowledge a mental health need.

Mary Smith, CEO at Growing Well: “This is great for the local population in West Cumbria as it means much shorter waiting times before professional help is available.”

“It is also great for Growing Well as it is financial recognition of our service doing what it has always done – relieving the burden on statutory mental health services and providing an alternative to talking therapies.
